Equipment

  • Cutting Board
  • Chef’s knife
  • Serving plate
  • Peeler or knife

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 oz baguette or French bread fresh and crusty
  • 3 oz cooked roast beef thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup baby arugula also known as rocket
  • 1/4 oz shaved Parmesan
  • Fresh cracked pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Slice the baguette or French bread in half lengthwise. Optionally, lightly toast the bread to add extra crunch.
  • Layer the cooked roast beef evenly on the bottom half of the bread.
  • Add the baby arugula on top of the roast beef for a fresh, peppery flavor.
  • Sprinkle shaved Parmesan generously over the arugula.
  • Season with fresh cracked black pepper to enhance the flavors.
  • Place the top half of the bread back on the sandwich, press gently, cut into pieces, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh, crusty bread to avoid sogginess and elevate texture.
  • Customize the sandwich with gluten-free bread or vegetarian alternatives for dietary preferences.
  • Prepare ingredients ahead but assemble just before serving to keep freshness.
  • Store leftover roast beef and arugula separately to maintain quality.
