Seasoned Ground Turkey
Finely dice the large onion to prepare for cooking.
Place your large skillet over medium heat and allow it to warm up.
Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté for about 3-4 minutes, or until translucent.
Add the 2 pounds of ground turkey to the skillet. Use a wooden spoon to break it up as it cooks. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Once the turkey is mostly cooked through (about 5-6 minutes), add garlic powder, paprika, thyme leaves, oregano, salt, black pepper, and onion powder. Mix well to evenly distribute the seasonings.
Continue cooking the seasoned ground turkey for another 4-5 minutes, or until fully cooked and no longer pink. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Once cooked, serve the seasoned ground turkey as desired, alone or in your favorite recipes.
- Do not rush sautéing the onion; it builds important flavor.
- Avoid overcooking the turkey to keep it moist and tender.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as you cook for best flavor.
- Let the turkey rest a minute after cooking to meld flavors.
- Use leftovers in salads, chili, pasta, or stuffed peppers for variety.
