Chicken Wings

  • 3.5 pounds chicken wings (drumettes and flats separated, wing tips cut off)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder divided
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon paprika

  • 0.25 cup hot sauce
  • 0.33 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onion for garnish

Instructions

  • Step 1: Rinse chicken wings under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Place in a large bowl.
  • Step 2: Sprinkle kosher salt, half of the garlic powder, ground black pepper, and paprika over the wings. Toss to coat.
  • Step 3: Grease the bottom of the slow cooker and place the seasoned wings inside.
  • Step 4: In a medium bowl, mix barbecue sauce, remaining garlic powder, hot sauce, and honey.
  • Step 5: Pour the sauce over the wings, ensuring they are evenly coated. Lid the slow cooker tightly.
  • Step 6: Cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until tender.
  • Step 7: Serve directly from the slow cooker or broil in the oven for 3-5 minutes for crispy skin. Garnish with green onions.

Notes

For extra crispy wings, broil them in the oven after cooking. Adjust hot sauce to your preferred spice level.
