Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk or Spoon
  • Storage container

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Make sure you have all the ingredients listed above ready to go. This makes the process smoother and more enjoyable.
  • In a mixing bowl, add the smoked paprika, chili powder, ground cumin, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, granulated sugar, sea salt, and ground black pepper.
  • Using a whisk or spoon, thoroughly mix all the ingredients until they are evenly combined. Ensure there are no clumps of sugar or spices.
  • If you prefer more heat, feel free to add an extra pinch of cayenne. If you enjoy a sweeter rub, you can increase the brown sugar.
  • Transfer your Spicy Dry Rub into an airtight container. This will keep it fresh and flavorful for future use.
  • Generously coat your choice of meat—whether it’s chicken, beef, pork, or vegetables—before cooking. Allow the meat to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for the best flavor infusion.

Notes

  • Store the dry rub in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to six months.
  • Adjust the cayenne and chili powder to control the heat level to your preference.
  • Use the rub on a variety of meats or vegetables for versatile flavor options.
