Spicy Grape Meatballs Cooking Guide
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the grape jelly and chili sauce. Stir until the jelly is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. This should take about 5 minutes.
Once the sauce is well combined, add cayenne pepper to the mixture. Start with 1/2 teaspoon and taste. If you prefer it spicier, feel free to add more. Stir well to incorporate the heat evenly throughout the sauce.
Place the frozen meatballs into your slow cooker. Pour the grape jelly and chili sauce mixture over the meatballs, ensuring they are well coated.
Cover the slow cooker and set it on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours. This allows the meatballs to absorb the flavors of the sauce while warming through completely.
Once the meatballs are heated through and covered with the sweet and spicy sauce, transfer them to a serving dish and enjoy! They make a perfect appetizer or even a fun main dish served over rice.
- Adjust the cayenne pepper to control the heat level according to your preference.
- Use pre-cooked homemade meatballs if desired, but ensure they are fully cooked before adding to the sauce.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
