Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk or electric mixer
  • Spatula
  • Brownie bite pan or mini muffin tin
  • Parchment Paper
  • Microwave-safe Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 plus 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup salted butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 5 ounces melting chocolate dark or milk chocolate wafers
  • additional melting wafers in red, pink, or white, for drizzling and decorating
  • Valentine sprinkles for festive decoration

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures that your brownies bake evenly and turn out perfectly.
  • Grease your brownie bite pan or mini muffin tin with a bit of cooking spray or line with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and kosher salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened salted butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract until combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix to keep your brownies fudgy.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the 5 ounces of chocolate wafers in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly before adding to the brownie batter.
  • Gently fold the melted chocolate into the brownie batter until fully incorporated.
  • Spoon the brownie batter into the prepared pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full to allow room for rising.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, melt additional melting wafers in your choice of colors. Drizzle them over the brownie bites and top with Valentine sprinkles for that festive touch.

Notes

  • Use a toothpick test to ensure brownies are perfectly baked with moist crumbs but no wet batter.
  • Substitute unsalted butter plus a pinch of salt if salted butter is unavailable.
  • Store brownie bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
