Medium Bowl
Shallow Dish
- 4 salmon fillets about 6 ounces each, skin-on or skinless
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, Dijon mustard, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and fresh lemon juice until smooth.
Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the marinade over the salmon, coating evenly. Reserve the other half for basting. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (375°F to 400°F). Clean and lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
Remove salmon from marinade, letting excess drip off. Place fillets skin-side down on grill. Cook 4-5 minutes without moving.
Flip the salmon carefully and brush with reserved marinade. Grill another 3-4 minutes until salmon flakes easily and glaze is caramelized.
Remove salmon from grill and let rest for a couple minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve.
- Do not marinate salmon for longer than 2 hours to avoid mushy texture.
- Always oil grill grates to prevent salmon from sticking.
- Flip salmon only once to develop a nice crust and avoid breaking the fillets.
- Use medium-high heat to prevent burning the glaze while cooking the fish through.
- Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 2 days; reheat gently in skillet or oven.
